Four players who helped lead Scio to back-to-back 2A state championships will join former teammate Coulter Mastenbroek at Western Oregon University.
Linebacker Justin Guest signed a national letter of intent Wednesday while linebacker Ben Sarbeck, defensive tackle Brandon Rezentes, and offensive tackle Daryn Vinton will join the program as preferred walk-ons.
Guest was the 2A defensive player of the year and was a first-team all-state offensive lineman and linebacker.
Rezentes was the 2A lineman of the year and was a first-team lineman on offense and defense.
Sarbeck earned first team all-state as a tight end and a linebacker.
Vinton was picked as a second team all-state lineman on both sides of the ball.
The Loggers won the 2A state championship in 2009 with a team led by Mastenbroek, a senior.
The Loggers defended the title this season.
