MONMOUTH — Lindsay Bauman, a junior at Western Oregon University, has been named the 2011 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Newcomer of the Year.
Bauman led Western Oregon with 10 points (three goals, four assists) during the 2011 season. She also ranked second in GNAC play with 70 shots, a 3.89 average per game.
With this honor, Bauman also was unanimously placed on the 2011 GNAC All-Conference first team.
Five Western Oregon players also received GNAC honorable mention recognition: forwards Marina Austin and Kym Witmer, midfielders JoEllen DeLeon and Monique Thees, and goalkeeper Brittney Rigtrup.
