The purpose my first blog is simply to inform all of you, who I am and what I am about…
Initially, this idea seemed as easy as breathing, but the more I thought about it, the harder it became to fully articulate into words who exactly “I” am. Simply put, I am Kevin, a 20 year old Sophomore from Woodburn, Oregon AKA Little Mexico. I am a Psychology Major with a Minor in Sociology, with hopes of being a successful therapist.
I have been involved in a few clubs around campus like the Multicultural Student Union, a great multicultural club that focuses on spreading different cultures around campus, M.E.Ch.A. club, a great way to learn about some of this country’s politics in a simple and unbiased way, Green Wolf Sustainability Club, An open minded group that works together to create sustainable changes and spread a green way of life. I also like to visit the Black Student Union and learn about African American history and how it has impacted and influenced our American culture.
I love learning about other people’s cultures and heritage, which is probably why I decided to take up German classes this year, which I am extremely excited for. So hopefully I will be able to speak English, Spanish and German by the end of the school year.
Some of my personal interests include playing all types of video games, sports, action and all sorts of adventure games with my friends. I like to stay active as well, and do so by visiting the Health and Wellness Center on campus. It has baskteball courts, a rock climbing wall and great workout machines and it makes it easy to forget what time it is when you are there. I also like watching TV. I like almost anything that is interesting and different. I like anything from That 70’s Show and Spongebob to Breaking Bad and Game Of Thrones.
It looks like this will be a good school year, and so far it is. I look forward to blogging all the different types of things all over campus. So I’ll be updating my blog with my point of view of all things campus life at WOU related and I hope they are fun and informative.
