The Western Oregon University track and field team placed three athletes — Carraig Colahan, Chris Olsen and Amanda Schumaker — on the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District squad.
Schumaker, a senior javelin thrower, earned her first academic all-district honor after recording a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average. The four-time All-American graduates this week with a degree in nursing.
Olsen, a junior All-American in the indoor 800 meters, earned his academic all-district nod with his 3.41 GPA as an interdisciplinary studies major.
Colahan, a junior thrower, also picked up his first honor, as he holds a 3.94 GPA in the area of criminal justice.
To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must be a starter or an important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA.
