The Multnomah County Democrats have selected three nominees for consideration to replace Jackie Dingfelder in the state Senate.

Dingfelder, D-Portland, announced Oct. 16 her resignation from the Senate’s District 23 seat to take a job as an aide to Portland Mayor Charlie Hales.

Progressive blog BlueOregon reports the district’s precinct leaders selected Oregon state Rep. Michael Dembrow, D-Portland, Western Oregon University project coordinator CM Hall, and Common Good Films owner Enrique Arias during a meeting Friday night.

The Multnomah County Board of Commissioners will make the final decision about which of the three nominees will fill Dingfelder’s seat. Dembrow is the favorite for the position, which typically goes to a sitting representative.

If the board selects Dembrow, a similar process will determine who fills his seat in the House.
