If you love reading and are interested in meeting over 80 local authors, the Portland Art Museum is holding the Wordstock Literary Festival this Saturday, November 7. The festival opens at 9 a.m. with an event starting at 9:15, and will go until 6 p.m. For the avid reader, or aspiring writer this is the perfect chance to get to hear from authors, and pick up a few editions to add to your library.
With the admission price of $15 you’ll be able to attend discussions held by over 80 local authors, as well as groups from around Portland to point you in the direction of your next book. Included with admission is a $5 voucher for books redeemable at the book fair held at the museum provided by Powell’s and many authors will be available for book signing at the event (granted the books must be bought at Wordstock, and receipt must be shown to gain access to book signing areas). In addition to the book fair and local authors, local food trucks will be present as well as concerts.
I don’t know about you, but a day full of books, authors, and good food sounds like something not to miss out on.
