Hamersly is getting a facelift

Hamersly Library

Our very own Hamersly Library is getting a facelift beginning over Winter Break!

The absolute best part about said facelift you ask? THE CAFE.

Thats right, guys, there will be a Cafe Allegro satellite cafe in the library next term ( hopefully by February). It will be located in the alcove at the north end of the library on the first floor.

There are many other alterations that will be made to the building itself including more and larger study rooms, more computers, and more outlets throughout the building. The current furniture will remain throughout the building for the remainder of the academic year, however. The board plans to replace the furniture over the summer.

A WOU student survey of 326 students was a huge part of making the decisions of what to add to our wonderful library. So take pride in the fact that we have a say, and take a major role in making our university the best it can be.

I’m sure you are all as excited as I am to watch the library transform over the upcoming months. It is wonderful to see our university adapt and change to fit our needs as students and faculty. Here’s to the new and improved Hamersly Library!
