Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Western Oregon University is proud to participate in the national effort to bring awareness to sexual violence, and to promote prevention education in our communities on campus.

Abby’s House has multiple events going on around campus this month for this exact cause. Here are some activities to help you get involved and spread awareness:

Speak Like a Girl:

Day: April 20

Location: Willamette Room, WUC

Time: 6 p.m.


Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) Tabling

Days: April 26th and 28th

Location: Werner University Center

Time: 11 am – 2 pm


Denim Day with Alpha Chi Omega

Learn about the call to action against sexual violence

Day: April 27th

Location: Werner University Center

Time: 10 am – 2 pm


SAAM: Speak Out Against Victim Blaming

Day: April 27th

Location: WUC Plaza

Time: 5 pm


SAAM: Film Screening of The Mask You Live In

Part of the Health Masculinities and Campus Athletics Project. The film addresses concerns of toxic masculinity and its relationship to violence, aggression, and domination. Co-sponsors include: WOU Athletics and The Communications Department.

Day: April 27th

Location: Willamette Room, WUC

Time: 6 pm
