April Events You Don’t Want to Miss

Spring term is in full swing, and so are the April events that are popping up as quick as the flowers. Here are some Marion and Polk County activities that will be sure to add some fun into your schedule:

Tulip Festival

Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn Oregon is currently in full bloom and offers tickets for $5 a person and seasonal passes from now until May, 1. The fest is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Be sure to check out their website for information on specific events, like musical guest: John Rankin on April 9th from 11am to 2pm.

Independence Saturday Market and Farmer’s Market

The perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Head to Historic Downtown Independence, the market takes place in the parking lot of Sterling Bank at 302 Main Street, open from 9 am to 1 pm every Saturday from now until November.

Salem Bicycle Club Monster Cookie Ride
Sunday, April 24, 2016 – 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Salem Bicycle Club’s premier spring event and 40th year of the ride; ranked 3rd best ride in Oregon by The Oregonian. Beginning at the State Capitol Mall in Salem riders take back roads to Champoeg State Park and back to Salem. To register: www.salembicycleclub.org. Pre-registration $25, day of $30.

Giant Jenga

Thursday, April 28, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Venti’s Cafe in Salem. Come play a life-size version of the block game many of us played as kids!
