Klarissa Gaskell is a 2016 graduate with a fantastic future ahead of her. Not only is she graduating with a political science degree, but she also has plans to attend law school in 2017. She is a kind, hardworking student who is going to go far in life.

Where are you from?
“Hillsboro, Oregon”

Why did you pick WOU?
“I originally picked WOU for the pre-nursing program offered here but changed my major a few times along the way. I wanted to stay here because I fell in love with the campus and the incredible WOU faculty.”

What are you getting your degree in?
“Political Science”

What did you enjoy most about your time at WOU?
“I met some lifelong friends and we had a great ride along the way. I have made some incredible memories and I will always cherish my time here.”

What were you involved in while here?
“I was the vice president of Phi Alpha Delta, the pre-law club here and participated in the weekly ASL clubs.”

What are you doing after graduation?
“I will be going to law school in September 2017!”

What do you know now that you wish you knew as a freshman?
“It will all work. The mistakes that happen along the way will turn into experiences and everything will unfold. Just keep pushing through and you will find your way.”

What is your favorite spot on campus to grab lunch?
“The Deli in the Summit! They have the best rice bowls.”

What is your favorite spot to study on campus?
“3rd floor in the library, next to a window.”

What was your favorite event to go to on campus?
“The plate breaking! It was always nice to smash a few plates and relieve some stress.”
