Thanksgiving in the community

It’s that time of year again! On the way to December and January holidays and celebrations, first stop is Thanksgiving. If you have yet to make any plans, here are some Thanksgiving activities and meals in the community! Click on the event links for locations and prices and as they will vary.

Worried about having to cook on Thanksgiving? Here’s a class all about giving pointers on how to cook a delicious, healthy, and easy meal for your guests: Healthy Thanksgiving Cooking Class – Wednesday, November 9: 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Here are a couple fun, cool volunteer opportunities for those who want to give back to the communities for the holiday:

3rd Annual Cranksgiving – Saturday, November 12: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: This event is a way for messengers and other urban bicyclists to socialize and compete while raising food for local soup kitchens or food pantries before Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Food March – Sunday, November 20: 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Members from the community can grab a bag and go out to collect food to be donated to the Polk County Food share. These bags will help families in need over the holiday.
