The Tualatin grad, running for Western Oregon, sprints to victory at University of Portland indoor meet
Dominique Loggins, a 2019 Tualatin High School graduate, and a freshman on the Western Oregon University track and field team, got his 2020 indoor season off to a fast start, as he sprinted to first place in the 60-meter dash this past weekend at the University of Portland Indoor No. 2 meet, earning him Great Northwest Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week honors. Loggins’ winning time of under seven seconds is tops in the GNAC so far this season. Loggins, who also plays football at Western Oregon, opened the competition by having the top time in the preliminaries with a mark of 7.02 seconds. Loggins then did even better in the wins, running a 6.98 to claim first place.
His time sits fifth in the WOU school record books.
