This is a summary of our July 16, 2020 live Q&A session. We host these live Q&A’s for current students, incoming students and family members on WOU’s Instagram and Facebook accounts every other Thursday at 10 a.m. The next session is Thursday, July 30.
When will the next announcement be regarding whether or not WOU is continuing with starting out with in person classes?
We’ve previously announced our plans for fall. You can read more about them on our fall 2020 webpage. At this time, we do not have any further scheduled announcements on this, but we are continuously monitoring the situation and guidance from the governor’s office and Oregon Health Authority. Should anything change, we will be sure to share that.
Have degrees been mailed out?
The Registrar’s office began mailing them out this week and hope to have them all out by the end of the week.
What should I do if I can’t get on my Housing Overview page to choose a room?
Please contact Housing at 503-838-8311 or housing@wou.edu to fix that issue.
If all my classes fall term online, will I have to pay fees for campus services?
If your courses are completely online, you will not have campus fees. You will have your base tuition and the $53 per credit online course fee.
How will in person classes work with social distancing?
The number of occupants will be limited in each space with social distancing guidelines in mind. Some areas may have physical barriers in order to accomplish this. In our lab rooms, students will not be sharing equipment or lab stations.
When can we pick our date to move into the residence halls?
There are some steps that happen in August, like selecting meal plan and housing contracts. Selecting your move-in appointment will be part of that process next month.
