Live Q&A Summary: July 30

The Cottage, an older, rustic-looking building on the WOU campus. It is surrounded by green bushes and bathed in sunlight.

This is a summary of our July 30, 2020 live Q&A session. We host these live Q&A’s for current students, incoming students and family members on WOU’s Instagram and Facebook accounts every other Thursday at 10 a.m. The next session is Thursday, Aug. 13.

Will there be classes this fall?
Absolutely! Our class schedule shows the delivery method for each course. We’re offering a mix of in-person, hybrid and online courses so you can choose the delivery method you feel most comfortable with. You can also learn more about our fall plans here.

With many students coming from out of state and with the current state of the pandemic is there an option to have the students classes online?
We’re offering a mix of in-person, hybrid and online classes. If you check out our course schedule, you can filter by delivery method and just look at “distance delivery” options to see the online courses available for fall.

Is Valsetz going to be open? And if so, what hours?
Dining will be open in some form, but hours are not known yet. It’s University Housing and Campus Dining’s goal to have dining open and are hoping to have more information in late August about what dining will look like (e.g., hours, if there’s limited seating inside, online ordering, and take out, etc.)

When will tours be available?
We don’t have a specific date available for when in-person tours will resume, but we are offering tours via Zoom and Facebook live on Wednesdays at 1:30pm and have tours in English and Spanish on the WOUnews YouTube channel.

Do we know what winter term is going to look like?
At this time, winter term is expected to operate as normal. If anything changes, we will be sure to widely communicate new information as it becomes available.

When will we know our move in time?
That will be coming out by email in the next two weeks.

How are tuition rates for classes going to go? In person rates? Online rates?
Tuition remains the same, no matter how the course is delivered, though the fees vary based on delivery method. Residency is what impacts the tuition rate. There’s a tuition calculator on this page.
