Weekly Live Q&A Summary: November 19, 2020

Here is a round-up of some of the questions and answers from our November 19 live Q&A. We hold the weekly live Q&A every Thursday from 10-11 a.m. on WOU’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Will WOU be offering COVID tests for students going home for break?

For students who live on campus, Housing is exploring the possibility of testing residents upon return for winter term. Information about that will be shared directly with residents. For all other students, you can contact the Student Health and Counseling Center if you have symptoms or have been exposed to someone with COVID to get triaged for possible testing.

Will spring term be online or in person?

WOU has not yet made a decision. We will continue to monitor the conditions and various health related metrics before we make a decision about spring terms. We plan to have a decision to announce early in winter term.

Is it too late to withdraw from a class? Or drop a class without penalty?

Nov. 13 was the last day to withdraw from a class with “W” grades. The academic calendar with dates is listed on the Registrar’s office homepage here: https://wou.edu/registrar/. If you have questions about your specific situation, the Registrar’s office would be happy to help you.

Plans for spring 2021 and 164th commencement? Are they gonna be online!

An email went to seniors from our Registrar (Amy Clark) on Nov. 12 that talked about the process for determining what Commencement will look like and opportunities for students to provide feedback. That information is also available here: https://wou.edu/graduation/
